Department of Botany was started in the year 1968 with Mrs.Dhanalakshmi as the Demonstrator and staff. In 1970 Mrs.Achamma George had taken incharge as Head of the Department. In 1978 Mrs. Vidhya Chandrasekaran and Mrs. Angela Bal Singh joined the Department with a Lab Assistant Mrs. Celine Mary. Mrs. Magdelin joined the Department during the leave vacancy from 1984 to 1989 in place of Mrs. Vidhya Chandrasekaran. In 1999 Dr.N. Visalakshi joined as Lecturer followed by Mrs. J.Rose de Leema and Mrs. D. Punitha in the year 2000. Mr.C.Henry joined as a Lab Assistant from April 2017.
