The NSS units of Providence College for Women oraganised a seven days special camp from 31/01/2020 to 06/02/2020 at Kodamalai village, The camp was inaugurated on 31/01/2020 by the village head Mr.Raju in the presence of Rev.Sr. Secretary and Rev.Sr.Principal.Each day of the camp started with a prayer and fitness training. Following this various awareness programmes like Yoga and Health, Ice-Breaking sessions, Women Empowerment, Healthy food for Healthy Life, Traditional food and Natural medicine,Let’s talk Period, Prevention of Cancer, Mental Health and Well-being, Wetlands Day and Personal Hygiene. In the evenings the volunteers were involved in surveys to identify the grievances and needs of the village people. The volunteers extended their services by cleaning the village temple, school and the streets. They also helped in teaching and entertaining the
PUP school at Kodamalai.Apart from personality development programmes recreational activities were organised for the volunteers. Subject experts and representatives of voluntary organisations like Green the Red and Keystone Foundation were invited to motivate and orient the volunteers and the public.The valedictory ceremony of the camp was held on 06/02/2020 in the community hall.
